Costa Mesa, California – “PARK-O-RAMA”

The City’s Fairview Park Friend/Fundraising Committee enthusiastically invites the community to participate in the first annual “PARK-O-RAMA”. This interactive event will be held Tuesday, July 30th, beginning at 5 p.m., at Fairview Park prior to and concurrently with the Concert in the Park, hosted by the Costa Mesa Recreation Division. The “PARK-O-RAMA” will focus on the various existing and proposed activities approved under the Fairview Park Master Plan, and will include exciting kite and glider plane demonstrations. Amateur and professional kite groups will provide kite demonstrations, beginning at 5 p.m., while the Harbor Soaring Society demonstrates their glider plane mastery skills.

The “PARK-O-RAMA” will also provide an opportunity for the community to participate in kite building and flying. Kite kits will be available for $1 donation, with the donation going towards the implementation of Fairview Park. The kite kits and kite making location will be located at the Mobile Recreation Van, with staff on hand to assist kite makers in creating and decorating their kites.

The July 30th Concert in the Park will begin promptly at 6:15 p.m., and will showcase the 50’s-60’s dance music of Ronnie & the Classics. The public is encouraged to “go fly a kite” at a designated kite area while enjoying the concert. The Fairview Park Friends Committee will offer food and beverages at a nominal charge, as well as a 50/50 raffle opportunity, with the proceeds going to the Fairview Park implementation fund.

For further information on this event, please contact Carol Proctor, City Staff Liaison to the Fairview Park Friends Committee, at (714) 754-5688.
